"Art is the highest form of hope." - Gerhard Richter

Accessibility

As of January 2026.

The 22nd Gallery (operated by PE Art Capital UG (limited liability) - see legal notice ) strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the harmonized standard EN 301 549. This accessibility statement applies to the website: www.22ndgallery.com and all partner websites.

1. Status of compliance with the requirements

This website is currently not compliant with the technical requirements for accessibility.

We are aware of the importance of digital inclusion and are continuously working to improve accessibility. However, as a small business in the art trade, we face technical and resource-related challenges that prevent immediate, full implementation.

2. Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a) Disproportionate burden (appeal for exemption): Due to the size of our company, a complete barrier-free redesign currently represents a disproportionate burden. We are focusing on a gradual improvement.

b) Specific known problems:

  1. Alternative text for images : Since our products are visual works of art (unique pieces), a textual description that does justice to the visual experience is often difficult. Many product images therefore currently lack meaningful alt text.

  2. Contrasts : In order not to distort the artistic representation and design of the gallery, some text-background contrasts do not comply with the strict WCAG AA guidelines.

  3. Usability : Keyboard navigation is limited in some places (e.g., pop-ups, shopping cart overlay) due to the platform technology used (Wix).

  4. PDF documents : Older PDF documents (e.g., artist biographies, catalogues) are not accessible.

3. Preparation of this declaration

This statement was prepared on January 15, 2026. The assessment is based on a self-evaluation.

4. Feedback and contact (your right to help)

Should you encounter any barriers on our website that prevent you from using it (e.g., if you want to buy a work of art but cannot use the checkout), we will be happy to assist you personally.

Please contact us; we will gladly process your order by phone or email, or describe the artworks to you in detail.

You can find our contact details in the legal notice.

We strive to answer your requests within a reasonable timeframe and to provide you with the inaccessible information in a format that is accessible to you.

5. Enforcement procedure

If you have not received a satisfactory answer to your accessibility request within six weeks, you can contact the arbitration board at the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities.
